In spite of the disastrous living conditions of the Soviet Union, the country was united under the fist of Joseph Stalin: the man of steel. His reign of terror brought any resistance to its knees and created what could more or less be described as a level of peace. Consequently, that peace lives and dies by Stalin. If the General Secretary of the Soviet Union were to perish, the politburo, secretaries of state, and military commanders would have to find a comprehensive solution to ordering the Soviet Union in a manner that allows it to propagate into the future.
